Animal Hospital Controls Guide

The full Animal Hospital control list for PC and mobile: movement, the E interact, M1 attacks, the Shutter button, cameras and the photo.

Animal Hospital uses a simple control scheme, but knowing each input cold matters when a Skinwalker is on you or an emergency timer is ticking. This guide lists every control for both PC and mobile, and explains what each one is for.

Core PC controls

  • WASD — move your character around the hospital.
  • Mouse — look and aim the camera.
  • E — interact. This is the most important key in the game (see below).
  • M1 (left click) — attack with an equipped weapon, and used in some treatment mini-games.
  • Shift — sprint (useful for reaching emergencies in time).
  • Spacebar — jump.

Mobile controls

On mobile, Animal Hospital uses standard Roblox touch controls: an on-screen movement stick on the left, a jump button on the right, and contextual buttons that appear for interactions. The interact button stands in for E, and an attack button stands in for M1 when you have a weapon equipped. The camera, photo and Shutter actions all have on-screen prompts when you are at the relevant station.

The E interact key in depth

E does far more than open doors, so it is worth memorizing every use:

  • Interact with patients and machines during check-in and treatment.
  • Clear hazards — hold E to clean up green sludge/slime on the floor.
  • Fight Skinwalkers by hand — hold E from behind a Skinwalker that is attacking a patient to take it down safely, or tap E repeatedly if one is attacking you (this costs Sanity, so it is a last resort).
  • Dismiss certain threats — for example interacting with a Wall Banger using coffee, or holding E to make one leave at a Sanity cost.

The Shutter button

The Shutter is the red button on the left side of your reception desk. Pressing it lowers the shutter and rejects the patient at the window — this is how you deal with every Anomaly at check-in. Press it again to raise the shutter and call the next patient. It is not a keyboard key; you interact with the physical button at the desk.

Cameras and the photo

At the desk you also have access to the CCTV cameras (for spotting camera anomalies) and the photo function (for photo anomalies). Both are station interactions rather than dedicated keys — you use them while standing at the check-in area. Remember that the camera’s dark-figure zoom and cursed photos both drain Sanity, so use them as part of the disciplined detection routine rather than spamming them.

Weapons and combat

When you buy a gun or taser from the shop, equip it and use M1 to attack. Weapons only work on Skinwalkers, not on environmental enemies like the Stalker or Bed Monster, which require specific non-combat responses. Keep your weapon ready for the Ambulance event, when auto-admitted Anomalies are guaranteed to awaken.

Practice the muscle memory

Because the control set is small, the goal is speed and accuracy under pressure. Practice the E interactions and the Shutter until they are reflexive, so that when a Death Ritual starts or a Skinwalker lunges, you are reacting instantly instead of hunting for the right input. Pair this page with the Hospital Map so you also know exactly where to move when seconds count.

Frequently asked questions

What does the E key do?

E is the universal interact key. You use it to interact with patients, items and machines, to clear hazards like green sludge by holding it, and to fight Skinwalkers by hand (hold from behind, or tap repeatedly if one is on you).

How do I attack with a weapon?

Use M1 (left click on PC, or tap on mobile) to attack with a gun or taser. Approach the Skinwalker and use M1 to deal damage.

Can you play Animal Hospital on mobile?

Yes. Like most Roblox experiences it supports mobile with on-screen controls — a movement stick, a jump button and contextual interact buttons that mirror the PC E and M1 actions.
