X-Ray Room Treatment Guide

How to complete the X-Ray room in Animal Hospital: the copy-the-sequence mini-game, administering items, and avoiding a failed treatment.

Last updated: June 19, 2026

The X-Ray room is room 6, on the left side of the hospital. It is a step up from Basic Medical because it adds a mini-game before the familiar item step. Nothing here is hard once you know the pattern.

The X-Ray flow

X-Ray treatment has two phases:

  1. The copy-the-sequence mini-game. Squares flash in a specific order. You then click M1 on the squares in the same order they flashed. If you make a mistake, you have to do it again.
  2. Administer items. After the X-Ray, you give the patient the correct items, exactly like Basic Medical — and just like there, a wrong item kills the patient.

Tips for the sequence mini-game

The copy-the-sequence game is pure memory and attention:

  • Watch the full flash before clicking. Do not start clicking until you have seen the entire sequence; jumping early is the most common cause of mistakes.
  • There is no harsh penalty for a miss beyond having to repeat it — the patient does not die from a failed sequence, you just retry. So stay calm and take the sequence at a pace you can track.
  • Use a steady rhythm when you click back the order, matching the speed it flashed rather than rushing.

Because a missed sequence only costs you a retry (not the patient), the X-Ray mini-game is low-stakes. The real danger is still the item step at the end.

Administer the correct items

After the X-Ray, the treatment finishes the same way as Basic Medical: administer the right items. Giving the wrong item kills the patient and loses your progress. Order does not matter, correctness does. Slow down for this step, since it is the only part of the X-Ray room that can actually fail you a patient.

You can leave mid-treatment

Like most treatments, you can step away from the X-Ray room at most points to handle a check-in or an event and return later — just remember that the item step at the end is still unforgiving. Plan your multitasking around the mini-game: it is easier to leave after you have completed the sequence than to abandon it halfway and lose your place.

The wrong-item trick still applies

If a missed Anomaly ends up in the X-Ray room, the wrong-item trick works here too — giving it the wrong item at the end kills it with no point penalty, since Anomaly deaths do not cost score. It is a safe way to clean up a check-in mistake without letting it become a roaming Skinwalker.

Watch for room threats

The same in-room hazards from Basic Medical can appear here: a Bed Monster under the bed, the Don’t Look Up ceiling threat, or a Death Ritual starting in the room. Handle them with their specific responses from the Enemies and Events sections rather than letting them interrupt your sequence and item steps.

Next: the Heart Monitor

Once X-Ray feels comfortable, the Heart Monitor room is the next specialized room — a different mini-game (clicking white icons, avoiding skulls) leading into the same item step. After that comes the most demanding room of all, Surgery.

Frequently asked questions

What is the X-Ray mini-game?

It is a copy-the-sequence game: the squares flash in an order, and you click M1 on them in the same order they flashed. Make a mistake and you have to repeat it.

Where is the X-Ray room?

Room 6, on the left side of the hospital, alongside the Heart Monitor (room 7) and Surgery (room 8) rooms.

Can I leave during the X-Ray treatment?

Yes, you can leave at most points to handle something else, but remember that administering the wrong item at the end still kills the patient and loses progress.
